Most people picked under £2 for the amount they would willing to pay for a magazine showing that people would rather spean less on a magazine.           

  

Evaluation of Magazine Cover and Contents Page.

I feel that the task went well in some aspects however there were a few parts I did not like and need to improve.
The background I chose was simple but i liked all the different colours that it had.
I liked the images used in the magazine cover and content page as I took them and the size was what i wanted. However I feel that I could've played around and edited the images more and made them look even better.
The font I used was very plain and basic, I feel that I could've used a better and more interesting font to go with the magazine cover and content page.
Also I only used one colour throughout the magazine cover, which I feel that I should've used other colours to make the magazine look better and more appealing for students.
I dont feel that this magazine looked nice and looked like a proper magazine. I feel like the magazine looked childish and was pretty basic and simple.

Colour Test: Yellow

My next colour is YELLOW
This colour is vibrant, happy and warm. It represents the sun, cheerfulness and optimism.                                                               
The colour would be used in magazines aimed towards kids and young teens as it would appeal to their visual senses.
In a magazine this colour would be eye catching, attract attention and would be appealing to all ages.

Colour Test: BLUE, PINK, GREEN

My colour is BLUE
This colour is calming, peaceful and relaxing. It can represent the sea, sky and sadness. Blue is also a masculine colour.
The colour blue on a magazine would make us feel calm, I would believe the magazine would be safe and for all ages and the content in side wouldn't be edgy it would be realistic and general.


My next colour is PINK
This colour is bright, fun and innocent. Pink is a very feminine colour.
Pink is usually used in magazines that are for women or young girls. So pink in a magazine would indicate to us that the magazine is aimed at ladies.


My next colour is GREEN
This colour is calm, friendly and soft. Green is a very eco-friendly colour and represents the environment and nature. Green would be used in a magazine that would be based around the world and eco related matters. The magazine would have a very friendly feel to it and be very general.

Today, we are doing the colour test. We are testing out different COLOURS for our magazine.


My first colour is RED.
The colour red is bright, bold and vibrant. It represents anger, hate, love and passion.
In a magazine the colour red is a good colour to use because its bold and will stand out getting the readers attention more.

Welcome to my AS Media Blog

On this blog will go my Media Studies work throughout the year.
I am doing my preliminary task which involves me creating a student magazine cover and content page.
My research will include looking at other magazines and creating a questionnaire and evaluating the results from students at my school.
I will evaluate different colours and fonts for my magazine. I will also do a mock up layout of a magazine cover.
